Service Description
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Banff National Park with a guided hiking experience. Our knowledgeable guides will lead you through stunning trails, offering insights into the park's ecology, history, and wildlife, tailored to your fitness level and interests. Calgary → Canmore → Lake Louise → Calgary Pickup: 7:30 AM | Return: approximately 6:30 PM Distance: ~10 km round trip | Elevation Gain: ~535 m | Difficulty: Moderate 7:30 AM – Calgary Pickup Downtown or major hotel pickup. Introductions, hike overview, and safety briefing. 9:00 AM – Canmore Pickup (10–15 minutes) Quick roadside pickup and optional restroom stop. 9:15AM- Banff Pickup (10-15 minutes) 10:15 AM – Arrive at Lake Louise Washroom break, gear check, and trail briefing. 10:30 AM – Begin Hike: Lake Louise to Lake Agnes Teahouse Steady forest climb with switchbacks and scenic viewpoints. Hiking time: approximately 1.5–2 hours. 12:15 PM – Lake Agnes Teahouse (30 minutes) Enjoy tea and baked goods (cash only), relax, and explore Lake Agnes. 12:45 PM – Hike to Big Beehive Narrow alpine trail with increasing elevation and exposure. Hiking time: approximately 45 minutes. 1:30 PM – Big Beehive Summit (30 minutes) Panoramic views over Lake Louise and the Bow Valley. Photo time and rest. 2:00 PM – Descent to Lake Louise Return via Highline Trail if conditions allow. Easier downhill pace. Hiking time: approximately 2 hours. 4:15 PM – Return to Lake Louise Free time at the lakeshore or café. Regroup for departure. 4:45 PM – Depart for Calgary Approximately 6:30 PM – Calgary Drop-off Return time may vary depending on weather and traffic. Important Guest Notes • • • • • • • Cash is required at the Lake Agnes Teahouse (no cards accepted). Proper hiking footwear is mandatory; trail runners or boots recommended. Weather in the mountains can change rapidly; layers are essential. Snow may persist into early summer; route may be adjusted for safety. Minimum fitness level required due to elevation gain and distance. Wildlife is common; guests must follow guide instructions at all times. This hike is not recommended for guests with severe fear of heights. This service is booked upon request- please submit request and we will contact you.

1. Welcome & Experience Philosophy Banff Wilderness provides guided sightseeing, hiking, and adventure experiences within Banff National Park. Our goal is to offer safe, respectful, and meaningful experiences that connect guests to nature while protecting the park and everyone within it. All tours are professionally guided and operated in accordance with Parks Canada regulations. ________________________________________ 2. Safety First Your safety is our top priority. • All tours are led by trained, experienced guides • Safety briefings are provided before each tour • Guides continuously assess weather, trail conditions, wildlife activity, and group ability • Tours may be modified, shortened, or cancelled if conditions are unsafe Participation is voluntary, and guests are expected to follow all guide instructions. ________________________________________ 3. Participant Responsibilities Guests are responsible for: • Providing accurate information about health conditions, injuries, or physical limitations • Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for mountain conditions • Bringing required gear as outlined at booking • Following guide instructions at all times • Arriving on time for scheduled departures Banff Wilderness reserves the right to deny or end participation if a guest’s condition or behaviour presents a safety risk. ________________________________________ 4. Wildlife Awareness Banff National Park is home to wildlife. • Guests must maintain safe distances from wildlife at all times • Feeding, approaching, or attempting to photograph wildlife closely is prohibited • Tours may reroute or pause to avoid wildlife encounters Failure to follow wildlife safety instructions may result in removal from the tour without refund. ________________________________________ 5. Environmental Responsibility We follow Leave No Trace principles: • Stay on designated trails • Pack out all waste • Respect plants, animals, and natural features • Keep noise levels low Guests are expected to act respectfully toward the park environment.
